If we want to get technical, this would be proto-vaporwave (or how i like to call it protowave) , since the Frutiger Aero aesthetic/music is all about the 2000's vision of an utopian future - vaporwave (and many other micro-genres like vaportrap, hardvapor, ambient vaporwave etc.) came later in 2010's, especially 2013, when seapunk aesthetics were into the mainstream. I would argue however, that the moment the album Floral Shoppe dropped, that's when the official vaporwave really started. It kinda depends on how you see it lol
I'm convinced frutiger aero wasn't just an aesthetic but a blueprint, a Philosophy. We have to return to the past to create the ideal future we were promised. The future is a garden: it's unity with nature, it's capitalism that bends before the environment, it's community building, it's green tech, solar powered vehicles, compostable plastics, buildings that can clean the air we breathe, widespread hydroponics. We can make a difference and it's never too late. The technology already exists. 🌐🩵🌿
we never realized just how happy we were when this aesthetic was around & more popular.. if only we could go back but luckily we have the internet & fresh citrus-y playlists such as these :) 🍋🌎
It’s 2005. People have flip phones and indestructible Nokias instead of smartphones. Social media isn’t really a thing. Subway is the big kahuna of “healthy” fast food. The display TVs at Best Buy show brilliant images of faraway coastal cities, with bubbles bouncing around everywhere. You drive your ‘98 Camry down to Blockbuster to pick up a movie and some cookie dough bites for Friday night. Life is good.
Frutiger Aero is my spirit! I am an aspie half Mexican Poblana, half Australian and I love this because my mom used to hear this when she was a teenager and got into an exchange in Singapore in where she returned via teleport using a chatroom back in 2010... (You didn't guess from who are I talking about hehe). Greetings from Kyoto!
Something I've noticed is we seemed to be moving parallel with our nostalgia. For a long time we were nostalgic for the futurism the 80s gave us with vaporwave and synthwave, then we started diving into the late millennial childhoods of the 90s, then 2000s anesthetics, now we're inching ever so close to the early 2010s already.
I wish Frutiger Aero rises again, so we can experience new FA music, art and stuff, like a way to feel the early 2000's and 2010's again, a way to run away from minimalism and corporate stuff
The Wii is very Frutiger Aero. The menu was calming, light colors and cheery sounds, and the second track is reminiscent of the Wii Sports opening theme. My first console was the Gamecube, which had more of a futuristic blocky opening screen. Frutiger Aero came a bit later
This is the kind of music I've heard so much in games, ads, and stuff like that, but I've never actually gone out of my way to listen to. Neat! I guess the real underappreciated music genre is....... fruit drinks?
This playlist makes me feel as if I'm in a MegaMan Battle Network game, and that's honestly the best vibe. Thank you for your channel and hard work, this nostalgia always makes my day brighter 🌐🌱✨
@@i_used_adblock_to_watch_this Sorry, pal. We're high when we listen to Frutiger Aero playlists, which is why his comment is hard to read. Your reply is kinda rude tho :(
I’ve actually had a similar theme for my birthday this year! Thankfully, I’ve invented an art style that combines the four into one universally-accepted aesthetic, which is of course Frutiger Aero, Y2K Chrome, Uproaring 20s, and 2010s Flat. I’ve already created several images demonstrating this aesthetic concept using AI art generators, in fact. That said, I’m not too much into citrus myself, I’d prefer strawberry, cherry, kiwi, and blue raspberry myself, but who could go wrong with a little bit of tropical citrus every once in a while? Nobody, that’s who.
Nothing about these songs is screaming mid 2000s, it's giving 90s vaporwave (the cassette sound effect that some songs have , like the lead on "deep dive" for exemple, doesn't fit the mid 2000s at all).
I actually don't like Frutiger Aero aesthetic. It just wants to be something soft, new and eco-friendly... But it's just a corporate lie. The water part was mainly brought from the fact that just a decade earlier, acid rain was a real issue.... Then it was solved. .... But yeah, the style and colours of frutiger aero just feel so soft, feminine and a clusterfuck of stuff. .... But the music, though, it's chill.
I'd say the resurgence of Frutiger Aero isn't to support the lies companies like Microsoft and others to get everyone reliant on technology.. but to let ourselves relax in the idea of the future that should have been. Since in these times the road companies want to go down is oversimplification, incessant advertising, mass production and all.. for me personally I support Frutiger Aero now as a big middle finger up to corporate :) Totally get the dislike though, when it's so very clearly represents a lie you're listening to a lie, I feel that for sure.
@@ArchDennam I also find frutiger aero to be a bit feminine, with the soft shapes and the blues and greens... I much prefer the current adoption of retro-futurism of synthwave and such. Maybe in something like 40 years frutiger aero is going to be back but in a different form.

truly I'm so glad it exists. it feels right.
It's 2000's vaporwave equivalent.

Ohh like a generational progression
frutiger aero came first. vaporwave arrived as an antithesis to that.
